About Phoebe

Wellby_IconTransparent_S.png

Phoebe is a strategist, writer, and almost European citizen (again). Phoebe's love of the startup world started during an internship at Google for Startups' Amsterdam hub, after which she went to business school to get an MSc in Entrepreneurship. Phoebe founded Buro155 directly after leaving university, and has since worked with brands across Europe and the US.

Writing

Phoebe started her career as a freelance journalist, writing for The Huffington Post as a teen columnist, and later for publications like The Guardian, The Next Web, Startups Magazine, Cosmo, Harvard Business Review and Stylist. She covers everything from entrepreneurship to pop culture, and is currently working on her first book proposal.

Speaking

Phoebe is a regular guest lecturer, and has spoken about branding, marketing and entrepreneurship at the University of the Arts London, Kingston University Business School, London College of Fashion, and the Barcelona School of Art and Design. Phoebe has also given a keynote talk at DCN Global's Berlin Youth Forum, where she also appeared on a panel alongside Erifili Gounari (founder of The Z Link) and Meagan Loyst (founder of Gen Z VC),

Phoebe was formerly on the board of the World Economic Forum Global Shapers' Amstedam Hub, and was also a columnist at The Holland Times. She's been featured twice on the T500 list of the most impressive young people in digital.

Raised in Frankfurt, Paris, Amsterdam and London, she's spent her adult life bouncing between the same countries, substituting Frankfurt for Berlin, for obvious reasons.

Connecting

In 2022, Phoebe co-founded Food for Thought, a dinner club gather women in VC, media, startups and the creative industries. Alongside co-founder Gemma Perlin, Phoebe hosts regular dinners and drinks in London, gathering the city's most inspiring women. Phoebe has also hosted dinners in Amsterdam, Paris, Berlin and New York City. She's currently building Social Capital, a media and events brand, alongside co-founder Hannah Rinne.
